2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 husband – life isn’t perfect, but it is what we make it

Not so bad…

So the in-laws aren’t so bad. I have really missed getting to hold Zach while they are here, but I was actually able to get a lot of stuff done because they were holding him so much. He got really fussy lastnight so I stole him back and got some good mommy snuggling time in.

We finally got some really good professional portraits done of Zach on Saturday. I really liked the way they came out. We had them done at Portrait Innovations. Everything is digital. They print your pictures out there and you get to take them home in about 20 minutes. I’m definitely going back there again. I was very impressed.

Otherwise, we had a pretty uneventful weekend. I finally got a little bit of sleep which was very nice.

Two more days of the in-laws visiting and then life can return to normal again.

Oh, the things I could do….

…if only there were 10 more hours in a day. With those 10 hours I would be able to:

  • go grocery shopping
  • cook a somewhat healthy meal
  • spend time playing and just having fun with Zach
  • clean my house
  • wash, fold, and put away all of my laundry
  • wash and put away all the dishes
  • spend a little bit of time with my hubby
  • take my dog for a walk
  • work out
  • finish the website that I promised months ago
  • fix my computer
  • finish decorating the baby’s room
  • put Zach’s 1-month pictures in frames and hang them up
  • fill out Zach’s baby book
  • spend a little time relaxing
  • SLEEP!

Caught In The Act

This morning Zach was laying on the bed after his bath waiting for me to come get him dressed. I was getting myself dressed and walked in to check on him. What I saw was so cute! He was laying there with his hand stretched out petting Pedro on the head. Every time he would stop, Pedro would push his head up under Zach’s hand to get some more. It was so cute I just had to take a picture. Unfortunately I didn’t have the camera nearby, so you have to deal with a pic from my phone. But still, how cute is that?

Wake Me Up When September Ends

I can’t believe that we are at the end of September already. I really can’t believe that it has been a year since baby Zachary was created. A year can go by so fast. It seems like such a short time ago that I found out I was pregnant and now I have a 3-month-old baby. I wish there was a way to share with the whole internet just how amazing he is, but I’m not sure that there are any words sufficient to describe it. But, enough about him…for now anyway.

This is going to be a very busy, action packed weekend and I’m not sure I’ll survive. My brother and his wife are closing on their new house today and moving tonight. They were supposed to close on Wednesday, but it got pushed back. Because of that, they are in an even bigger rush to get moved. They have to be out of their apartment by tomorrow so Hubby and I promised to get there as soon as we can to help them get moved.

Then, on Saturday, we are celebrating my sister’s birthday at noon. It’s not actually until the 6th, but she’ll be in Chicago next weekend visiting a friend so we’re celebrating early. After we get together for lunch I agreed to take the boys for her so that her hubby can take her out for a movie. Then, with the nephews in tow, we’re going to a friend’s house to celebrate her little girl’s 7th birthday and will probably be there most of the night.

Sunday, we have to get up and go to church, return the boys to my sister, have a quick lunch, and then we’re going to the Chiefs/Eagles game at 3:00. By the time we get home from the game I think I’m gonna just crash. I just hope Zach can handle all of the running around without getting too fussy.

Plus, on top of all that, I really need to get my house cleaned as the in-laws are coming to town next week as well. I really need the energy fairy to come visit me. Or at least to hire a cleaning lady for a while.
