In approximately 23 hours and 33 minutes I will be on a plane heading to Phoenix. I have to admit I’m getting a little excited. I love traveling to new places that I’ve never been to before. I’m not sure how much time I’ll actually get to explore the area because we’ll be with the in-laws, but I’m sure we’ll still have a great time. I found out lastnight that the base housing that they reserved for us includes a high chair and a playpen that Zach can sleep in. That is so awesome.
My Amazon order came in this morning so I’ll have my Combi Urban Baby Carrier to tote the boy around in. I also have some new reading material thanks to the book suggetion from Pammer. I’m hoping Zach will fall asleep on the plane (Wish me luck! Benadryl anyone?) so I can get started on it.
Another cool thing I found out lastnight is that the wedding reception includes an open bar. It’s a good thing Granny and Poppa will be there to watch Zach while hubby and I enjoy ourselves a bit.
Now all I have to worry about is the packing. Laundry is done. One dog has been dropped off. Some packing has been done. Yard has been mowed. Transportation to the airport has been arranged. Camera and laptop batteries have been charged.
Now I suppose I should get some work done so I can get the heck out of here!
Have a great trip!!!
Looking forward to detailed review/report on the baby carrier, please. I definitely got my money’s worth out of the Bjorn, but now that my son is nearing 19 lbs, front-carrying is awkward. We are flying again in early July, so this carrier might be the ticket.
Have fun on your trip! My theory is “less is more” when it comes to packing – it’s less stressful when you have LESS to worry about. so far, it has worked. There is very, very little that can’t be bought if needed in an emergency. 🙂
I agreed with “Cagey” about light packing. I’m the queen of light packing. How about 1 carry-on each for a 10 day honeymoon trip to Maui?
How about travelling w/3 kids for a 10 day trip to San Diego. I was so proud of myself for stuffing everything I needed in 3 big luggages for 5 people. But when we landed, guess what we forgot…THE STROLLER!! Thank goodness for Target!!
Don’t forget the stroller!!
Definately have a great trip. I’ve found that my Zac has always fallen asleep on a plane, provided he had a bottle during takeoff and landings.
One note of caution, Z. always gets sick after trips. Just be prepared to be unpacking and taking care of your little one. Not so much fun…
I am so not good with packing. I seem to over-pack for every occassion, but I like having the options.
Enjoy the trip! And thanks for the shout out!
