2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 1 husband – life isn’t perfect, but it is what we make it

Developmental Milestones Galore

I really should be working and getting caught back up, but I really just want to be blogging.  I haven’t written anything in over a week and it is about to drive me nuts.  I didn’t realize just how much I missed it until today when I actually sat down in front of a computer again.  So, I figured I could just write something short and sweet and get it out of my system for a little bit.  Plus, I really wanted to share some exciting new developments.

Zachary turned 6 months old yesterday.  Can you believe it?  Half a year has already raced by.  I just cannot believe how quickly the time goes when you have children.  Three days before he hit that 6-month mark (Friday) he said his first word, which of course was "dada".  His daddy was awfully proud but I had to bring him down a little when I told him that most babies do say that first and that Zach most likely has no idea what it actually means.  It is still pretty exciting anyway.  Then, on Christmas Eve as we were sitting in church I discovered that he has two little teeth just about ready to pop through the gums.  My boobs are definitely not looking forward to the teeth, but I am looking forward to him being able to eat some real food (that baby food is expensive!) once he gets a couple more teeth in.  Also, he is really close to being able to sit up by himself.  As long as he has a toy or something he is interested in he will sit up.  If he doesn’t have a distraction, he flops right over.  It is kind of funny to watch.

Anyway, there is my baby update.  I was just dying to get that out.  Now that you all have been informed, I will go back to work.  Hopefully tomorrow I will have pictures.

I'm back!

We survived the trip and the holidays and now are trying to get back into our regular routine.  We had a great time in Louisiana.  I have TONS to write about, but it will have to wait until later.  Right now, I must try to get myself caught up at work.

On the Road Again

By the time this posts (if my delayed posting works) I should be well on my way to the glorious state of Louisiana.  I am actually looking forward to seeing my in-laws and having a little time away from here to relax for a few days.  If nothing else, Zach will have tons of attention and I’ll get a little bit of a break from the Mommy must be holding me at all times or I will scream phase that he is currently going through.  I’m sure Granny will make a fine substitute for at least a little while.  Plus, I may even be able to hand him off and go back to bed if I’m really lucky.  Well, it’s a nice thought anyway.

What I’m definitely not looking forward to is not having my wireless network or even a dial-up internet connection while I’m gone.  I tried looking up an access number for my ISP lastnight and the closest number is still long distance from my brother-in-law’s house.  They do have DSL, so I can get on the internet, but I can’t hook up my laptop to it (where I can surf and blog privately) unless they agree to let me unhook their computer and hook mine up.  Hopefully they will be understanding.  I may be forced to blog only on my other web site until I get back as this one is semi-private (as in NO FAMILY allowed).  I don’t think I realized how much my life revolves around the internet until I was faced with the fact that I may not have it for an entire week.

I guess the whole point of this is, I will most likely be MIA for at least the next week, and probably won’t be back until after Christmas unless I get really lucky or find a wireless connection I can hook up to somewhere.  So, I want to wish all of my wonderful readers a very happy holiday season, whether you are celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or other special holiday.  Take time to appreciate your family and friends and make it special this year.  And, rest assured, I will return with lots of cute baby pictures after Christmas!

My Precious…

This baby is FINALLY mine!  I’ve been wanting one for a while and my phone has been really crappy lately.  So, hubby decided that for my Christmas present (which we were not supposed to buy this year) he wanted to get this for me.  It should arrive Friday and I’m really hoping that it will get here before we leave for Louisiana or I will be one very sad girl.

Procrastinating again

I don’t know why when I have a HUGE amount of stuff to do that I just sit here and procrastinate. Thursday afternoon I’m going to be running around here like crazy trying to get everything finished up before I go out of town. I know I have tons of stuff to do, but I just can’t make myself do it.

So, instead, here is what I’ve been up to today. I took a somewhat extended lunch break and did some more Christmas shopping at Old Navy. I got two more gifts bought, which only leaves one more personal gift and one family gift left to figure out. Then, since I’ve been doing so good on my diet and I’ve been majorly craving some greasy fast food I decided to cheat a bit today and have lunch at BK. I did, however, get a diet Coke instead of the regular one that I wanted. I haven’t figured up my points for what I ate yet, but it tasted really good.

I followed a link today from one person’s blog to the new blog of one of my old tblog friends. She is now blogging at http://www.mindsay.com which is kind of a cool site. I wanted to leave her a comment, so I had to sign up for an account. I think I have about a bazillion online accounts now, so I just went ahead and signed up. When I was filling out some of the profile information for my location, it popped up a list of other people from my area. I glanced through the list and the first one on there was someone I used to know. She just happens to be the fiance of someone who screwed my husband out of about $250 bucks a few years back. It has been a long time and he is over the money issue, but shortly after that happened the “friend” just disappeared from his life. Eventually, we ended up seeing him again at a mutual friend’s house. He apologized but obviously had no intention of ever paying the money back. I had also given him some of my furniture so the way the whole thing went down still kinda pisses me off. Anyway, so I was nosey and read her blog a bit. It seems they are moving to Phoenix after Christmas which makes me happy. I don’t have to worry about ever running in to them again. But, now the question lingering in my mind is whether to continue reading the blog that I found or to just forget about it. I think my curiosity may get the best of me, but I’m not really sure why I would want to waste my time on her.
