Oh the weather outside is frightful

And that is exactly why I’m indoors, at home.  Our nice warm days turned to freezing overnight and from what I hear we are supposed to have quite a bit of ice and possibly a little snow before the sun sets tonight.  Well, before its time for the sun to set anyway because we sure aren’t seeing much of it today.

I am fortunate to work for a company that cares more about their employees getting home safely than it does about productivity.  I got sent home early so that I could get Zach picked up and arrive home safe and sound.  I had to wake Zach up mid-nap at day care, so I’m hoping he doesn’t get too fussy this afternoon.  He seems to be in a great mood so far and is tearing the house apart as usual.

We had a nice little surprise when we arrived home today.  I signed Zach up for Scholastic’s Nick Jr. book club a few weeks ago and the first shipment arrived today.  We got 10 Nick Jr. books, consisting of all of his favorite cartoon characters and a backpack for a total of about $12.  Not bad.  He was so excited when he saw the books.  I wish I could have captured the look on his face when he figured out that they all had either Dora, Diego, Blue, or the Backyardigans on them.

Well, it looks like Hubby is home now too, so I’m going to try to do a little bit of the work I brought home and maybe find something warm to start cooking for dinner.
