This Saturday, May 15th, I’ll be joining a team from Northland UMC to fight against homelessness in Kansas City by walking for Hillcrest Transitional Housing. Hillcrest is an organization that provides homeless families with 90 days of transitional housing, classes in budgeting, employment, life skills & community living, and a way to bring their families back to self-sufficiency. Hillcrest gives people a fresh start when they have no where else to turn.
I’m reaching out today and asking for support from anyone who may be able to give a few dollars. Since I’m a little late to the party, my goal is to raise $100, but I would be thrilled to exceed that goal. Homelessness can affect anyone at any time and I feel like this is a great way to help out in my local community.
If you would like to donate, please go to to the Hillcrest Transitional Housing web site and select my name (look for Perrin) from the “Select A Participant” list at the top of the page, then click the “Sponsor Me” button and fill in the amount you would like to donate. Every little bit helps, so even if you only have a few dollars, you will make a difference. If you don’t feel led to donate right now, that’s ok too. When the time is right, donate to someone in your own community and make a difference.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for donating, for reading, and for just being here.
